Staff Software Engineer

Visa is hiring a Staff Software Engineer in IN - Bengaluru.

Requirements

5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred qualifications

5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience. 5+ years of relevant professional software engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience with an advanced degree. Proven ability to independently deliver complex software solutions in a production environment. Experience working on highly available infrastructure‑focused systems. Prior experience mentoring engineers or acting as a technical lead on projects. Familiarity with observability, resiliency engineering, and automation in distributed systems. The Skills You Bring Strong, hands‑on experience with Java-J2EE, Spring Boot, and related enterprise frameworks. Solid experience building distributed systems using RESTful APIs and microservices architectures. Proficiency in frontend development using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js). Experience integrating AI-ML or Generative AI capabilities into production software systems Experience using AI‑powered tools to improve coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and refactoring while maintaining engineering rigor. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud‑native development patterns. Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and system design principles. Experience with automation and testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, REST Assured, Cypress, Groovy, Python). Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and drive resolution of complex production issues.
