Sr. Consultant Data Engineer

Visa is hiring a Sr. Consultant Data Engineer in IN - Bengaluru.

Requirements

8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred qualifications

9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or people management role. Strong hands‑on experience designing and building large-scale data platforms using modern data engineering stacks. Proven experience defining standards, frameworks, reusable components, and reference architectures. Deep understanding of data modeling (star/snowflake, domain‑oriented models), ETL/ELT patterns, and data quality engineering. Experience driving automation and efficiency through framework‑led or platform‑based approaches. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience operating in a COE or platform model supporting multiple product or analytics teams. Familiarity with cloud-native data platforms, streaming architectures, and modern orchestration tools. Exposure to data governance, metadata management, and observability frameworks. Experience supporting BI, analytics, and AI/ML workloads at scale.
