Sr. Consultant, BI Engineering

Visa is hiring a Sr. Consultant, BI Engineering in IN - Bengaluru.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred qualifications

• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• 10-12 years of work experience in BI/DE field
• 6+ years of experience leading technical architecture, tooling and design systems for BI development
• Familiarity with shared services, consulting, financial services is a strong plus.
• Expert knowledge of data visualization tool ecosystem, genAI utilization in BI and common open-source technologies
• Solid engineering foundations with CI/CD for BI, code/data reviews, testing, and observability, proven UI/UX experience
• Technical skills:
• BI Tool: Expert in enterprise dashboarding, advanced analytics, and embedded delivery.
• Architecture & Integration: Design end-to-end BI architecture (data ingestion → modeling → visualization) with REST APIs, embedded analytics, and automated reporting.
• Programming & Data Processing: Strong SQL, PySpark, HiveQL; experience with Hadoop, AWS EMR, NoSQL databases.
• Data Pipelines & Orchestration: Proficient with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration, data quality, and performance optimization.
• DevOps for BI: Skilled in Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and automated BI asset testing.
• Front-End & Advanced Visualization: Familiar with React, micro‑frontends, and MicroStrategy
• Strategic and Functional Excellence
• Simplify complexity—framing problems clearly and choosing the right data and design patterns.
• Balance speed and rigor—shipping iterative value while hardening for scale, reliability, and security.
