Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, including performance management, hiring, and career development
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex technical projects, from planning and execution to release and post-launch support
- Collaborate closely with product management, design, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions
- Define, implement, and enforce best practices for system architecture, coding standards, testing, and deployment
- Ensure systems meet high standards of scalability, performance, reliability, and security
- Drive agile development processes, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead production readiness, incident management, root cause analysis, and postmortems
- Contribute to high-level technical decision-making, architectural reviews, and long-term system design
- Track and improve engineering metrics such as velocity, quality, uptime, and delivery predictability
Technical Expectations
- Strong hands-on and architectural experience with Java
- Experience working with MongoDB and Elasticsearch in production environments
- Solid understanding of building scalable, distributed systems
- Experience with system performance tuning, observability, and fault tolerance is a plus
- Proven experience 8+ years of experience in managing and scaling engineering teams
- Strong execution mindset with the ability to balance technical depth and people leadership
