Manager II - IT Automation Engineer

Samsara is hiring a Manager II - IT Automation Engineer in Bengaluru - BLR1.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a small, but growing IT engineering team in India, overseeing critical IT automation, AI and DevOps projects

• Supervise the evaluation, innovation, development & implementation, of any variety of internal SaaS Engineering automation systems/AI projects geared to produce efficiency at scale

• Provide formal performance management support and review to all direct India reports, but share dotted line day-to-day supervisory capacity with US leadership

• Serve as the domain expert on implementation, management, and support of Business technology products and IT applications

• Develop metrics and dashboards to provide business leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on the organization's application landscape

• Manage technical requirements gathering, technical gap analysis, and contribute to backlog grooming

• Integrate and implement best practices and DevOps methodologies in every step of the IT engineering process

Minimum requirements for the role:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, engineering or related field

• 10+ years of experience in an IT Engineering role, with at least 3+ years of managing small teams

• 6+ years experience in software development and infrastructure

• Related experience in architecture, design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems, applications and major SaaS solutions

• Strong experience working with API’s in Javascript (Node.js), Python or Go

• Strong expertise in AWS and GCP cloud platforms
