Responsibilities

Mastercard is seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to lead a strategic engineering organization responsible for delivering enterprise capabilities that enable configuration, onboarding, validation, certification, and lifecycle management. This leader will be responsible for defining and executing technology strategy, product delivery, platform modernization, operational excellence, and organizational leadership necessary to scale these capabilities and support Mastercard's evolving business needs.

This is a senior technology leadership role for a strategic thinker, execution-focused engineering leader, and organizational builder who can operate effectively across product, engineering, architecture, operations, security, and business stakeholders.

Lead the Settings Engineering Strategy

• Define and execute the technology vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Drive platform modernization initiatives leveraging cloud-native architecture, APIs, event-driven systems, and modern engineering practices.
• Ensure the platform remains scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Partner with business and product leaders to align technology investments with strategic business priorities.
• Develop multi-year engineering roadmaps that balance innovation, operational stability, and customer needs.

Drive Product Delivery and Business Outcomes

• Partner closely with Product Management to translate business strategy into executable engineering plans.
• Establish outcome-based delivery practices focused on customer value, business impact, and measurable results.
• Ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives across multiple global teams and stakeholder groups.

Enable Digital Transformation

• Drive the transformation of manual operational processes into scalable digital experiences.
• Improve operational efficiency through automation, workflow modernization, and intelligent tooling.
