Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you will primarily focus on building intuitive, scalable user interfaces in React for AI-powered Cisco Cloud Security products, helping deliver seamless and high-quality customer experiences. You will work closely with backend and platform engineers to integrate RESTful APIs, support enterprise network integrations, and contribute to select full-stack features that power our cloud-delivered security services. You will participate across key phases of product development, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance, with a strong focus on usability, quality, and performance. In this role, you will solve meaningful customer problems while contributing to a no-blame engineering culture that values learning, transparency, accountability, trust, kindness, and mutual respect. Success looks like delivering modern frontend experiences with reliable backend integrations that improve product quality, customer outcomes, and team execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Experience contributing to team-based software development projects using source control, code reviews, and shared development workflows.
• Experience building web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript and React through internships, academic projects, or professional work.
• Experience with cloud-friendly technologies such as Docker, Jenkins, Python, Terraform, or AWS services including S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS, or CodeBuild.
• Working knowledge of HTTP, HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs, authentication flows, application state management, and automated testing using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or similar.

Preferred qualifications

• Understanding of micro-frontend architectures, shared UI platforms, and integration

patterns across multiple applications and teams.

• Familiarity with frontend build and delivery tooling such as Webpack, Babel, and Yarn.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability practices in cloud-native environments.
• Interest in AI-powered products and willingness to experiment, learn, and apply new technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
